From great explorations come great discoveries, like our Blackstrap Bitters. These slightly spicy bitters were discovered while exploring aromatic bitters and inspired by the key roles Caribbean rum and American whiskey played in the nascent cocktail boom. Blackstrap marries both spirits, fostering a union yielding a rich and smoky profile that’s all its own. With two types of molasses, three types of cinnamon, nutmeg, and black cardamom, every dash is full bodied and earthy. Two of its main ingredients – the aforementioned nutmeg, plus mace – hail from Myristica Fragrans, the only tree that produces two separate spices. Visually striking, its aroma is intense; the perfect crown sitting atop your favorite egg white cocktail as a garnish. Every batch is slow crafted with high-proof whiskey not merely as a solvent, but as an agent of flavor. That’s why Blackstrap is at home in stalwarts such as the Manhattan and Old Fashioned, while holding its own against robust spirits like mezcal.

1. Select ‘Pick up’ at checkout and complete your order

2. Await the confirmation email that your goods are ready (usually within 4 hours)

3. Swing in to pick up your goods during store hours

Cowboys and Astronauts ships from Chicago, IL to all 50 U.S. states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, Canada, and Mexico.

We do not ship to P.O. Box addresses, and splitting a single order and shipping to multiple addresses is not an option at this time (though you can simply create a unique order for each delivery address). Additionally, all shipping charges outlined below apply to standard items and merchandise as determined by Cowboys and Astronauts. Overweight items, oversized items, and/or items that require special packaging or handling will be priced separately and communicated to the customer before shipment.

  • Standard shipping options and associated charges for each order are presented and chosen during the checkout process. In addition, the following shipment rules and charges apply:
  • Expedited Shipping rates are available during checkout and reflect options available at delivery address.
  • Cowboys and Astronauts currently does not ship outside the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.


When applicable, shipping thresholds apply to merchandise only. Free shipping promotions occur and change on occasion and do not apply to end of season, closeout, and sidewalk sale events and will be reflected in available shipping options at checkout. Taxes and additional shipping and handling (if applicable) and the purchase of gift certificates and gift cards do not count toward the qualifying amount. The total order amount after any discounts are applied must be more than the threshold to qualify. Not valid for cash. Cowboys and Astronauts accepts returns on eligible merchandise* assuming product is unopened, unused, and returned with original packaging and accompanied by proof of purchase. 

Returns must be initiated within 30 days of purchase date and will be processed as follows:

A full refund matching the original purchase price will be issued within 15 days of purchase

or

A store credit will be issued matching the original purchase price within 30 days of purchase.

Any return shipping costs are the responsibility of the purchaser and, for all items returned, a tracked shipping service must be used to verify delivery.

*All end of season, closeout, or marked down items, whether purchased online or in store, are ineligible for return or exchange and are final sale.

*Additionally, underwear, swimwear, sunglasses, and sexual wellness products are never eligible for returns or exchange.
