Acknowledgement of Indigenous Land
We acknowledge Cowboys and Astronauts sits on Native land. The community our shop resides in is the traditional and ancestral territory of the people of the Očhéthi Šakówiŋ, Myaamia, Hoocąk (Ho-Chunk), Bodwéwadmi (Potawatomi), Kiikaapoi (Kickapoo), and Peoria.
For over 200 years Native Nations have been forcibly removed from this land.
We also acknowledge Chicago is the traditional homelands of the Council of the Three Fires: The Odawa, Ojibwe and Potawatomi Nations and is home to the country’s third-largest urban American Indian community, over 100,000 tribal members, who still gather to heal and practice their heritage and traditions, including care for the land and waterways.
