Grace, dignity, and eloquence have long been hallmarks of Maya Angelou’s poetry. Her measured verses have stirred our souls, energized our minds, and healed our hearts. Whether offering hope in the darkest of nights or expressing sincere joy at the extraordinariness of the everyday, Maya Angelou has served as our common voice.
Celebrations is a collection of timely and timeless poems that are an integral part of the global fabric. Several works have become nearly as iconic as Angelou herself: the inspiring “On the Pulse of Morning,” read at President William Jefferson Clinton’s 1993 inauguration; the heartening “Amazing Peace,” presented at the 2005 lighting of the National Christmas Tree at the White House; “A Brave and Startling Truth,” which marked the fiftieth anniversary of the United Nations; and “Mother,” which beautifully honors the first woman in our lives. Angelou writes of celebrations public and private, a bar mitzvah wish to her nephew, a birthday greeting to Oprah Winfrey, and a memorial tribute to the late Luther Vandross and Barry White.

Cowboys and Astronauts ships from Chicago, IL to all 50 U.S. states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, Canada, and Mexico.
We do not ship to P.O. Box addresses, and splitting a single order and shipping to multiple addresses is not an option at this time (though you can simply create a unique order for each delivery address). Additionally, all shipping charges outlined below apply to standard items and merchandise as determined by Cowboys and Astronauts. Overweight items, oversized items, and/or items that require special packaging or handling will be priced separately and communicated to the customer before shipment.
- Standard shipping options and associated charges for each order are presented and chosen during the checkout process. In addition, the following shipment rules and charges apply:
- Expedited Shipping rates are available during checkout and reflect options available at delivery address.
- Cowboys and Astronauts currently does not ship outside the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
When applicable, shipping thresholds apply to merchandise only. Free shipping promotions occur and change on occasion and do not apply to end of season, closeout, and sidewalk sale events and will be reflected in available shipping options at checkout. Taxes and additional shipping and handling (if applicable) and the purchase of gift certificates and gift cards do not count toward the qualifying amount. The total order amount after any discounts are applied must be more than the threshold to qualify. Not valid for cash. Cowboys and Astronauts accepts returns on eligible merchandise* assuming product is unopened, unused, and returned with original packaging and accompanied by proof of purchase.
Returns must be initiated within 30 days of purchase date and will be processed as follows:
A full refund matching the original purchase price will be issued within 15 days of purchase
or
A store credit will be issued matching the original purchase price within 30 days of purchase.
Any return shipping costs are the responsibility of the purchaser and, for all items returned, a tracked shipping service must be used to verify delivery.
*All end of season, closeout, or marked down items, whether purchased online or in store, are ineligible for return or exchange and are final sale.
*Additionally, underwear, swimwear, sunglasses, and sexual wellness products are never eligible for returns or exchange.
A seasonal return variance applies to all purchases made between November 24-December 24, 2023. In this case, a full refund matching the original purchase price will be issued within 15 days of purchase, or a store credit will be issued matching the original purchase price if the return merchandise is physically received in our store on or before January 31, 2024.
