When the flame gets weak or low, use tweezers to gently pull up the wick from the top and trim off the blackened end. This refreshes the flame and keeps it burning clean.\n\nReplacing the Flint\nThe flint (the small stone that creates the spark) will wear down with regular use. When you notice the spark is weak or gone, it’s time to replace it. Unscrew the flint spring at the bottom of the insert to remove the old flint and drop in a new one.
